Srirama Aggithayam, famous Thidambu Dancer of  Kerala born in 1958 the son of P Narayana Aggithaya and Girijamma.  He completed his primary education from Bekal High School, Kasargod.  He started learning Thidambu Dance at the age of 10 yrs from his father and performed his first Dance performance (Aragettam) in Sri Shastra Temple, Makkarakode, Kanghangad.  There onwards performed one or two Thidambu dance during a year.  From a short beginning, now Srirama Aggithaya is performing more than 100 Thidambu dances in all over kerala and some parts of Karnataka.  In 1987 National Games conducted in Thiruvanathapuram, he has been garlanded by then Minister Neelalohithadasan Nadar along with complements. His main achievement is that he will find out new dance steps in Thidambu Dance and will accommodate in the next  Thidambu dance performance. Now he is conducting research with regards to Thidambu Dance. He has performed Thidambu Dance in Asianet and Doordarshan.  He is teaching Thidambu to new generations.
About Thidambu Dance:

Thidambu Dance, a famous temple art of North Malabar area, now spreads through out the Kerala and also in some parts of Karnataka.  In Thidambu Dance, the dancer takes on head the deity of corresponding god of particular temple.  The dancer decorates the deity with clothes, flowers, gold and other ornaments. The Thidambu Dancer begins the dance along with Chenda melam (Drum beat).  The steps of the dance are in accordance with steps of the vadyam.  The dance begins with one rhythm and ends with other rhythm.

Since 1985 onwards shining in Chenda (Drum) Art field.  Started Chenda training under Sri Pularballi Sankara Marar as disciple. Later trained Panchavadyam under famous Chenda Artist Mattannur Sankaran Kutty. One of the leading Chenda, Thimila Artist of North Malabar, Cheruthazham Ramachandran performs Festival Vadyam (Special Musical concerts during festival time) like Panchavadyam, Thayambaka, Chendamela etc during festival occasion in famous temples of North Malabar area: Sri Subrammanya Swami Temple, Taliparamba Shiva Temple, Trichambaram Temple, Cheruthazham Hanumarambalam, Madaikkavu, Vadukunda Shiva Temple, Cherukunnu Annapurneswari Temple, Kadalayi Sri Krishna Temple, Talasseri Tiruvangadu Temple, Guruvayur etc. Also he attends Festival Chenda Programmes in major cities in India: Bombay, Pune, Gujrat, Bangalore, Rajastan, Delhi, Calcutta. He has own Chenda Training Centre for giving Chenda, Panchavadyam, Thimila training in his home place, Cheruthazham.
